Scout is available in the Harmonic MCP in Limited Beta. For now, contact your account manager or support@harmonic.ai to request access.

Claude connector is supported. has been updated and is supported.
ChatGPT connector update is pending review, and not yet supported.
If your admin allows manual installation, it’s possible and we can walk you through it.
Enabling Scout via MCP
Once you are part of the closed beta for Scout MCP, you need to make sure you have the Harmonic MCP installed and verify Ask Scout is available.
Recommendation:
You should enable Always allow for the Check Scout Status , Check Scout Usage , and Fetch Search Results tools to have the best experience with Scout via MCP. These tools allow your agent to retrieve Scout’s response, search results, and remaining Scout usage without prompting you for permission.
Note:
The new Ask Scout tool succeeds the natural-language company search tool (search_companies_natural_langauge) in favor of effectively and precisely searching through Harmonic's data for companies, people, and investors.

When your agent decides the Harmonic MCP should be used, it should understand when Scout should be invoked. If you expected Scout to be used and it wasn’t, please re-prompt your agent with the phrase Ask Scout ... .

Scout via MCP Capabilities
✅ Scout via MCP can:
fire off a new Scout thread, poll progress, and fetch results
continue an existing thread
chain into other MCP tools (read + write on lists, fields, etc.) during a task
❌ Scout via MCP cannot:
delete threads, cancel runs, or update schedules
access outputs from scheduled scouts
The Scout threads that get created via the MCP are not accessible via the Harmonic Console. Likewise, the Scout threads in the Harmonic Console are not available via the MCP.
Rate limits & Pricing
The rate limits for Scout via MCP are 10/minute and 100/hour. Scout via MCP tool calls do not count towards to your MCP tool call budget.
Scout via MCP is charged based on token consumption, see Scout consumption pricing for how usage is metered and priced.
The way you authenticate to the Harmonic MCP determines the consumption pool your Scout requests draw from.
