New to Scout? Learn the basics here
Power user checklist
Complete your onboarding. Click "Onboard me" below the Scout chat box. Scout will learn about your role and focus so its answers fit how you work.
Set up Skills. Skills are saved prompts you can run any time by typing / in Scout. Click a link below to add an example to your account:
[Market Map]. Give it a company or sector, and it builds a presentation-ready market map with categories, market sizing, funding data, top companies with logos, charts, and takeaways.
[Talent Sourcing]. Define a role, and it maps where that talent lives, splits it into talent pools, scores candidates against a rubric, flags who's likely to move, finds warm paths, and presents the results.
[Diligence Report]. Creates a one-page brief on a company before a meeting, built around its latest news and tailored to your role.
Schedule a Scout. A Scheduled Scout is an agent that runs on a set cadence to source, diligence, and research the companies, people, and industries that matter to you.
Not sure where to start? [Get personalized recommendations]. Scout will review your role and focus, then suggest Scouts built for how you work. Nothing is created until you approve.
Sync your network. Connect LinkedIn, your calendar, and email so Scout can find warm paths into companies and people.
Share your criteria. Attach a pitch deck, investment thesis, or scoring rubric so Scout evaluates companies and people against your own standards.
Getting the best results
Brief Scout like a sharp analyst. Explain who you are, what you're trying to do, and what "good" looks like. You don't need Boolean logic or filters.
Instead of: "Tell me about fintech"
Try: "Create a table of the top 10 Series A fintech companies with name, total raised, headcount, key investors, and recent growth signals."
Use @ to reference specific companies or people. This makes sure Scout pulls the exact one you mean, not something with a similar name.
"Find companies similar to @Stripe in the payments space."
"Who in my network is connected to @Company?"
Go deeper with follow-ups. Start broad, then drill in. Each follow-up builds on the context before it.
"Map the competitive landscape for AI-native legal tools."
"Now filter to US companies at Series A or earlier, founded after 2021."
"For the top 3, show warm paths through my network."
