Schedule a Scout

Automate any Scout task, on your schedule.

How to schedule a Scout

  1. Describe your task. Start a new chat with Scout and describe what you want — the task at hand, the type of companies or people, what qualifies as a match, what to exclude, and how often you want it to run. Be specific; vague criteria produce noisy results.

  2. Review the setup. Scout drafts the scope and schedule. Tell it what to adjust before you commit.

  3. Run it. Click Run Now to kick off the first run. The Scout is added to your Scouts list in the left sidebar and will start sending you email updates on the cadence you choose. Runs in your browser's local time zone.

What you can track

A Scout on a schedule covers a range of use cases: funding round alerts, founder movement, competitive tracking, and ongoing scoring of new companies, people, or investors against a saved search or list.

See Best Practices for example prompts.

Manage a Scout

Open the Scout's thread from your Scouts list to make changes.

  • To change what it tracks, type in the chat — e.g., "exclude healthcare companies," "change this to weekly."

  • To change when it runs, click the settings icon (⚙️) to edit the schedule, frequency, time, or pause runs.

Email alerts

By default, a scheduled Scout emails you a summary when it finds new results, and sends nothing if there's nothing new.

If you don't want emails, turn off notifications in the Scout's settings (⚙️). The Scout still runs its task on schedule - it just won't email you about it. This is useful when the point of the run isn't a notification at all, like keeping a list updated in the background.

Usage limits

Runs on a schedule draw from the same usage credits as other Scout research. See your plan's credit limits, or contact your account team to increase your capacity.
