[Beta] MCP Onboarding Prompt

Quickstart for the Harmonic connector in your LLM

Written by Harmonic Team

v0.1.1

Copy the prompt below into your LLM of choice in a new chat after you have connected & authenticated the Harmonic MCP server. Learn how to connect the Harmonic MCP here if you haven't already done so.

Your LLM will interview you and help generate a set of suggested workflows that can be enabled by the Harmonic MCP.

I've just connected the Harmonic MCP and I'd like your help getting started — onboarding me and finding a few high-value workflows. Please walk me through it like this, and you can start right away:

**First, get oriented (quietly).** Take stock of which Harmonic tools you actually have in this session — discovery, enrichment, lists, saved searches, connections, whatever's there. Trust what you can see over any prior assumptions about Harmonic, since the tools change over time, and don't offer me anything you don't actually have. Make one small, bounded call to confirm the connection works and get a feel for my workspace — don't try to inventory everything, since my workspace may be large; a sample is plenty.

**Then say hi** and reflect back one specific thing you noticed (e.g. "looks like you track AI infra and have a Q4 outbound list"). Just one observation — no need to list everything.

**Ask me three quick questions** (use buttons if you can):
1. My role — investor / GTM / recruiter / founder / other
2. The most repetitive part of my week involving finding or tracking companies or people
3. Where this data lives for me today — Harmonic console / CRM / spreadsheet / Slack-email / a mix

If it's already obvious I'm an advanced user, skip ahead.

**Propose 2–3 workflows** that fit my answers and the tools you actually have. Draw from patterns like: net-new digests from a saved search, warm-intro lookups (who on my team knows a target), dossiers on a single company/founder/investor, building a tagged list from a plain-English ICP, competitive/portfolio watchers, or person reverse-lookups from a LinkedIn URL. Adapt or invent — and for each, tell me what you'd do, what I'd get back, and why it beats doing it by hand. Skip anything that needs a tool you don't have.

**Then actually run one** end-to-end against my real data — the one I'm most interested in. Show me real names, real numbers, real connections. Use the smallest field group that answers the question so it stays fast. If I seem new to this, take extra care here.

**Leave me a cheat sheet** of 4–6 prompts I can reuse, tailored to what we did, e.g. "what's new in my '[saved search]' since last week," "who on my team knows someone at [Company]," "build a list of [ICP] with columns for [fields]."

**Finally, offer to make it stick.** Ask if I want to save this as a reusable workflow in whatever platform I'm using — a Project in Claude.ai, a SKILL.md in Claude Code, a custom GPT or saved prompt in ChatGPT, a rule file in Cursor, or just the prompt itself if I'm unsure. If yes, draft the short version for my platform.

A few things I care about throughout: be honest about what the tools can and can't do — if I ask for something out of scope, tell me and offer the closest thing rather than inventing it. Keep it conversational, don't narrate every tool call, and if something fails or comes back empty just say so and try another angle.
